Visit of the Student Group from Cincinnati at FOS Nord

On July 21, 2025, the Städtische Fachoberschule für Sozialwesen und Gesundheit München Nord warmly welcomed a group of students from Cincinnati, USA, as part of the long-standing exchange program between the partner cities of Munich and Cincinnati. This special city partnership has existed since 1989 and promotes intercultural exchange among young people.

The American guests were accompanied by Felicia Wenzel-Vonderheide, Vice Director of the Munich Sister City Association of Greater Cincinnati, and Albert Vonderheide, the association’s Treasurer.

The visit began with a warm welcome by the Vice Principal, Franz Fuchs, followed by a guided tour of the school building led by Lucia Schlamp-Hoffmann, Head of the English Department. Afterwards, the students received an informative presentation about the Bavarian educational system and the specialized secondary school (Fachoberschule). The American and German students then had the opportunity for direct exchange and a Q&A session during joint classes.

A particular highlight for the guests was attending regular lessons in German and History, which gave them an authentic insight into everyday school life in Munich. The visit concluded with a shared lunch, providing further opportunity for conversation.

The exchange day at FOS Nord emphasized the importance of international encounters for fostering intercultural understanding and building friendly relations among young people.
